Terms
The short version: it's free, use it, don't sue us.
The slightly longer version is below, mostly covering the license, the lyric sources, and the "as is" reality of a free hobby-scale app.
Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using SeeLyric ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app, that's genuinely fine, no hard feelings.
License
SeeLyric is provided free of charge for personal, non-commercial use on Windows. You're granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and run the app on devices you own or control. You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the installer as your own, or claim authorship of the software.
No account, your responsibility
There's no sign-up and nothing to keep secure on our end, so there's also nothing for us to lose on your behalf. You're responsible for keeping your own device secure and for how you use the app, including making sure your use of Spotify or YouTube Music complies with those services' own terms.
Third-party services
The app detects playback via Windows' System Media Transport Controls and fetches lyrics from two independent third-party sources, LRCLIB and NetEase Cloud Music. We don't operate either service, don't guarantee their uptime or the accuracy of lyrics they return, and aren't responsible for their content, availability, or changes to their APIs. If one goes down, automatic mode fails over to the other; if both are unavailable, lyrics simply won't show up for that track.
Availability & changes
SeeLyric is currently Windows-only (version 1809, build 17763, or later) with no macOS or Linux build. Features, requirements, and this site's contents may change between versions without prior notice. We may also update, suspend, or discontinue the app at any time.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that lyrics will always be found or correctly synced.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app, including issues caused by third-party lyric sources or by Windows itself.
Intellectual property
The SeeLyric name, icon, and website content belong to the developer. Lyrics displayed in the app are sourced from and remain the property of their respective rights holders and the third-party databases above; the app doesn't claim ownership over any lyric content it displays.
Termination
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may modify or discontinue the app, in whole or in part, at our discretion, without liability to you.
Governing terms
These terms represent the entire agreement regarding your use of the app and supersede any prior agreements. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
